Sales Tax Holiday

The State of Tennessee’s Annual Sales Tax Holiday is held every year on the first Friday in August and ends the following Sunday night. This year’s tax-free holiday weekend begins at 12:01 a.m on Friday, August 6th and ends Sunday, August 8th at 11:59 p.m.

If your state participates, find more information here. With that said, I have found that some of the better deals fall on other weeks. You can consider tax-free as a savings of about 10%. The crowds at the stores are on par with Black Friday or the day after Christmas. This is a great day for those shoppers that want to buy it all, and get it finished. I have found that the choice is down because the stores don’t have time to restock, and the waits can be horrible. Some stores will allow you to pre-shop during the week and hold it for the weekend. Take some time and plan your trips to make this weekend more enjoyable.
