This set of cute wooden polka dot eggs are one of my favorites for the season. I am a sucker for dots. $7.99 and free shipping.

How cute is this kid’s apron? $12.99 with free shipping.

Dog Days

We all love our pets. From the common dog to the exotic iguana, we hate to leave our pet home alone. The Kolb Corner has a great free pet sitter printable.  It is the perfect thing to leave with your pet sitter so they know if your baby is on medicine, has a microchip, where their vet is and any other special needs that might occur. Some other thoughts on your inside/outside pets – Do people in your neighborhood know who your dog belongs to? If your dog got lost does it have a collar with your current phone number? Do you have a recent picture of your pet to post if it got away from you?  Always good things to think about. Enjoy this printable from Kolb Corner.

Military Heroes

So our friend posted this on Facebook. Her neighborhood put red, white and blue balloons on mailboxes of current and former military personnel in their neighborhood. What an easy way to show your appreciation and support.

If you can’t read the tiny type, it says “Someone in our little area of the neighborhood is so incredibly thoughtful! She has decorated our local veterans’ mailboxes. I am surprised by how you, balloon gifted, for honoring them this way.”

Pumpkin Prayers

I love this idea from the Secret Keeper Girl. They took a leftover pumpkin and ask every family member whatever they are thankful for each night. Seems like a nice way to include everyone without too much effort and it looks pretty and festive. This was on their Facebook page, but you can visit their site here.

Gifts for Creative Builders

We received this set of Connectagons from Hearthsong many years ago and loved it. The wood is a tiny bit fragile, so it isn’t for kids that are too young.

The Under The Sea Kit runs about $30. You can find it here.

This Pop Optical set is $70. You can find it here.

The Hearts to Hearts set is only $20, so it is a nice starter set if you don’t want to invest much in this in case your kids don’t like it. Might be a fun gift to save for Valentine’s Day if you give your kids anything then. You can find it here.

Chicken Rice Soup

So this soup is my new favorite for this Fall. It is going into the rotation for a few reasons. First, it looks like things I tend to keep on hand so that is always helpful. Second, it is a crockpot meal. I love those in the Fall. Walking in at dinner time to a house filled with the yummy smells of dinner is delightful. Lastly, it looks easy. I love easy.

Creamy Chicken and Rice Soup from Back For Seconds.

It was delicious, but we needed to spice it up a bit for our tastes. It can also be made gluten-free by subbing a different flour or omitting the flour all together.
